Year 5 have had a very exciting start to the term learning all about space in our new theme `In a galaxy far, far away'.  We have been doing lots of practical activities which involved representing the solar system using different objects to appreciate the relative sizes of each planet on our playground.  We also had a fantastic time in the `Explorer Dome' where we learnt lots of fascinating facts about the planets around us.  We were left with lots of mind-blowing questions about all of the unknown aspects of space.

These are some of the wow facts the children learnt:

Leila: Saturn's rings are actually very thin

Sereah: It is believed that it rains diamonds on Neptune

Maya: Mercury has no atmosphere

Filippo: Eventually our sun will run out of gas to burn and will explode!
